The Design System team at Coolblue is responsible for building interfaces and interactions that help our colleagues build coherent, seamless and high-quality experiences for our users. By combining product, design & engineering know-how, we provide expertise on front-end, brand, usability and accessibility matters as part of our day-to-day. You enjoy doing this

• Contribute with the team to deliver a robust design system using React and Typescript used across product teams.
• Have full ownership over the Design System implementation and documentation.
• Support development teams to help them leverage the Design System, and receive their feedback to improve components.
• Encourage front-end contributions, through facilitation, support, and code reviews.
• Advocate for best practices that improve accessibility, reliability, security, performance, or quality.
• Identify emerging technologies and patterns that simplify building and maintaining large web applications.

• You have a BSc or MSc in for example Computer Science.
• You have 5+ years of experience as a Front-end Developer.
• You are familiar with Design System challenges, and you have owned or significantly contributed to a Design System.
• You’re an expert in front-end software development using React with strong TypeScript and CSS skills.
• You are familiar with Storybook and design/prototyping tools like Figma.
• You are comfortable working with JavaScript infrastructure, tooling, CI/CD, and monorepo tooling.
• You have an enthusiasm for accessibility and web-performance.
• You love to coach and mentor others and to support the growth of team members.
• You enjoy technical exploration and questioning the status quo.
• You can proactively communicate and advocate your impact to the non technical business stakeholders.
• You’re fluent in English.
